She’s everything. He’s just Ken. However, that doesn’t stop them from living harmoniously in paradise. Warner Bros. Pictures unveiled the second teaser trailer for Greta Gerwig‘s star-studded Barbie, featuring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling as our favorite It couple.
Warner Bros. only released the following as the film’s synopsis:
“To live in Barbie Land is to be a perfect being in a perfect place. Unless you have a full-on existential crisis. Or you’re a Ken.”
Based on this teaser, our lead gal has the hankering to explore the “real world.” At one point, we see her driving in her swanky hot pink car outside the limits of Barbie Land. Naturally, Ken tags along and is not without his trusty yellow rollerblades. Robbie’s character appears to meet the Mattel CEO, portrayed by Will Ferrell. We glimpse who’s playing the Barbies and Kens, along with the humans who enter the neon pink-drenched mix.

There are a handful of standout moments in this teaser. The sharp, clever humor shines through this go-round. Firstly, the scene between Robbie and Gosling when the latter suggests he spend the night with her. Why? Because they’re boyfriend and girlfriend. But what will they do? Ken has no clue. Gosling’s comedic timing is perfect here.
Another fun scene transpires on the beach as Simu Liu‘s Ken and Gosling’s Ken threaten to “beach off” each other. Robbie’s Barbie steps in to defuse the situation.
