Bad Sisters Season 2 Episode 4, “Person of Interest,” delves deeper into the mystery that is Angelica the Wagon while propelling the overarching narrative. We also spend more time with Becka. It’s more lighthearted compared to last week’s fare, but “Person of Interest” still has a nice balance of levity and drama. The Becka and Bibi scenes are pure comedy gold. Side note: Ian is sus to me. Side note #2: Methinks we’re getting an Eva/Ian hookup on the horizon.

Bad Sisters, “Person of Interest”
We open with Becka (Eve Hewson) attending a performance of Matt’s (Daryl McCormack) band, Exile in Ballymun. Detective Houlihan (Thaddea Graham) watches from afar, sipping on her drink. She approaches Becka at the bar and remarks that she thought Becka didn’t like Matt’s music.
Then, Houlihan asks Becka if she slept with Matt because he knew her secret — that she and her sisters helped Grace kill John Paul Williams. According to Houlihan, Becka is a “person of interest” in the JP case. Becka excuses herself.
Always Something
Outside, Becka leans against a wall, clearly in panic mode. She tells Matt that Houlihan’s on to the Garveys. Matt reminds Becka that he kept her secret, but he didn’t know about George Williams in the suitcase. He came home for Grace’s funeral; however, he also thought they should check in. Matt asks Becka what’s going on. He insists there’s “always something” with her. Understandably, this angers her.

Before she heads home, Becka grabs a few pregnancy tests. She takes one and then climbs into bed with Joe (Peter Claffey). We don’t see the results. The following day, Joe and Becka part ways as the latter hangs out with Eva (Sharon Horgan), Bibi (Sarah Greene) and Ursula (Eva Birthistle) on the beach. They spot Angelica (Fiona Shaw) among a group of folks picking up trash along the shore.
The Garvey sisters decide to chat with The Wagon about her potential involvement in Grace’s death. They believe Angelica blackmailed Grace and took the 20,000 euros from her. Considering Angelica blackmailed Ursula, this isn’t that far-fetched. Angelica defends herself, turning the vitriol on the sisters. She accuses them of not protecting Grace and allowing her to hold onto that terrible secret (killing JP).
Breaking and Entering
Later, the sisters spend time in the sauna while digging deeper into the Angelica conundrum. Becka suggests they break into Angelica’s house and search for evidence that she blackmailed Grace. Bibi entertains the idea, informing the group that Angelica attends church with Roger every Sunday at 11 am. Eva can’t believe they’re even considering breaking and entering.

However, Eva inevitably comes around to it. She orders Ursula to serve as lookout while Becka and Bibi commit a crime. Eva gets a text from Ian about Blánaid’s camogie match. Before leaving for that, Eva urges them not to screw this up. No cock-ups. After this, Eva reunites with Ian (Owen McDonnell) while Angelica gifts Blánaid (Saise Quinn) with a new helmet.
Eva tells Angelica that she had planned to purchase a helmet for Blánaid. Angelica insists she’s trying to support Blánaid since the latter has been out of sorts all week. Eva reminds Angelica that Blánaid’s mother passed away. The match starts, and Eva, Ian and Donal (Jonjo O’Neill) stand on the sidelines as Blánaid kicks arse on the pitch.
Nervous Wees and Squeezing Through Windows
Meanwhile, Bibi and Becka survey the area while waiting for Ursula’s all-clear. Becka takes a nervous wee, much to Bibi’s annoyance. Ursula calls to inform them that Angelica is now inside the church. Bibi helps hoist Becka over the ledge and through the kitchen window. This whole sequence is hilarious. I desperately need more Bibi/Becka scenes, please, and thank you. Becka successfully climbs through the window … until she lands on her back. Ouch.

Next, Blánaid gets into a fight with a girl during the match. Said girl was taunting her, asking which one of her family members would die next. Ugh, gross. Molly (Kate Higgins) — Ursula and Donal’s daughter — becomes collateral damage when the antagonist girl knocks a few of her teeth out. Before that, Eva verbally dukes it out with one man who tries to besmirch the good Garvey name.
Elsewhere, Roger (Michael Smiley) finds Ursula outside the church. She makes up an excuse for being there, claiming that she was inside, but the incense made her nauseous. Roger asks Urs out on a date. Grace’s death has made him take stock of things. That’s when Ursula gets a call from Donal about Molly.
What’s a Few Missing Teeth?
Later, Blánaid chews Eva out for arguing with that man in front of everyone. Eva spots Ursula, wondering why she’s not at her lookout post. Ursula and Donal tend to Molly. Irate, Ursula insults Eva and Ian before storming off. Tempers are a-flaring today, folks.

Meanwhile, Becka and Bibi look through Angelica’s belongings. They learn that she is a widow and her late husband left her for another woman. Bibi finds a newspaper clipping featuring Angelica doing homophobic things. Ew. Then, they find a cute rabbit in a cage concealed in a cupboard. Bibi makes a joke about “bunny-lingus.” Hee-hee.
However, the most significant discovery is the bedroom Angelica has prepared for Blánaid, including the girl’s school uniform. Creepy. Bibi packs up Blá’s jacket in her backpack. Becka runs to the bathroom to vomit while Bibi gets a text from Eva about Ursula abandoning her lookout post.
Bunny Hostage
Suddenly, Angelica arrives home. Bibi races out of the kitchen door and miraculously avoids detection. Unfortunately, Becka isn’t so lucky. Angelica grabs a weapon and moves toward the bathroom, where Becka hides. Becka barrels out of the bathroom, trying to keep her head down while shoving Angelica out of the way. Outside, Becka reunites with Bibi. She’s certain Angelica saw her.

Bibi opens her backpack to reveal Blánaid’s jacket and something a bit more on the furry side — the rabbit. Bibi insists it’s collateral. Becka can’t believe her sister took a bunny hostage. The rabbit bites Bibi before escaping, hopping far away from the action.
Later, Houlihan informs Detective Inspector Loftus (Barry Ward) of her discovery at Matt Claffin’s show. Additionally, the Garvey sisters stayed in a hotel a mile away from JP’s cabin the night he died. Uh-oh. Then, Houlihan and Loftus learn they have reason to bring Becka in.
It’s All Sh*t
After this, the gang reunites at Eva’s house. Eva lets Ian sit in on the madness. They learn that Becka and Bibi’s infiltration operation to collect evidence did, in fact, go to sh*t. Well, not entirely. Angelica plans to have Blánaid move in with her, which is messed up. Loftus and Houlihan arrive to arrest Becka for breaking and entering and assault. Naturally, the sisters protest this.

At the station, Becka refuses to talk. Meanwhile, Roger brings Angelica tea. Angelica’s wearing a neck brace. Roger provides Angelica with much-needed context regarding Grace’s first husband. He reveals that JP raped Eva and abused Grace. He wasn’t a good person. Angelica looks like she might hang this over the Garveys’ heads.
Then, the sisters decide how to get Angelica to drop the charges. They wonder if they should invite her over to make peace. Bibi wants nothing to do with The Wagon. Of course, majority rules, so Angelica comes over to chat. They address Angelica preparing a room for Blánaid, reminding her that the young girl has a family. Eva urges Angelica to forgive Becka. It’s what Jesus — and Grace — would do.
An Exchange
Angelica wants something in return. Initially, they assume money, given her history. However, Angelica declares she wants to scatter Grace’s ashes. She needs closure. The Garveys vehemently protest this. Elsewhere, Becka remains quiet, evading Houlihan and Loftus’s questions. Loftus gets called out of the room. Houlihan continues, informing Becka that being an accessory to murder is 10 years to life.

Finally, Becka cracks. She wonders why the detectives are targeting her. Why aren’t they unraveling the mystery of Grace’s death? What did Grace do with all that money? Becka stops herself before she keeps going. Houlihan catches this and asks for context. What money? Loftus returns, revealing that Becka is free to go.
Outside the station, Eva embraces her little sister. Eva confesses they gave Angelica the one thing she wanted: to spread Grace’s ashes. Of course, she won’t actually do it, but they got her to drop the charges against Becka. Once they’re in Eva’s vehicle, Becka breaks down. She reveals the guards are zeroing in on the Garvey sisters as the ones behind JP’s murder. Oh, and she’s pregnant. Eva looks shocked. Becka reveals she doesn’t want the news to get out.
Zero-Craic Ken and Nighttime Threats
After seeing a text from Joe, Becka claims she needs air. She heads to Matt’s house. They makeout for a spell before Becka asks if they can cuddle in his bed. She tells Matt that he’s the only one who truly understands her. Becka doesn’t have to explain herself to him. Both admit they “got over” each other, but it’s abundantly clear here that that’s not the case.

Eva heads over to Ian’s house to vent. She’s panicking over the guards sniffing around. Ian encourages her to remain calm and close ranks. Don’t give the guards a reason to suspect them. Meanwhile, Becka emerges from Matt’s apartment and finds Joe waiting for her outside. Uh-oh. Joe calls Matt “zero-craic Ken” and pokes fun at his music. One neighbor sits in his window and drinks, enjoying the show and laughing at Joe’s zingers. This man is all of us.
Becka pulls away from Joe, admitting she can’t do this anymore. She walks away from both men. Later, Ian approaches Angelica outside her church. He threatens her, ordering her to steer clear of the Garvey sisters and Blánaid. She backs away in fear. Ian claims this is the only time he’ll warn her. As he walks away, we see him smile.
Oh, that’s not suspicious at all.
