Quick! Turn your flux capacitor on and get ready for 1.21 gigawatts of excitement because the Back to the Future  musical is finally here! Nearly seven years since its initial announcement, the musical adaptation of the 1985 comedy will be making its debut at the Manchester Opera House on February 20th, 2020.

The production is set to be directed by Tony winner John Rando which features a score by Glen Ballard, who actually released and starred in a music video for one of the upcoming numbers back in June called “Put Your Mind to It”. You can check out below!

The musical will follow the same plot as the movie, which sees teenager Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) who accidentally travels 30 years into the past in a time-traveling DeLorean invented by the eccentric Dr. Emmett Brown (Christopher Lloyd). While trying to find a way back to 1985, Marty must also play Cupid to ensure his high school-aged parents unite in order to save his own existence.

The cast will feature Olly Dobson as Marty McFly, Roger Bart as Doc Brown, Hugh Coles as George McFly, Rosanna Hyland as Lorraine Baines and Cedric Nealas as Goldie Wilson.

 The company is rounded out by Rhianne Alleyne, Amy Barker, Owen Chaponda, Jamal Crawford, Nathanael Landskroner, Bethany Rose Lythgoe, Cameron McAllisterAlessia McDermott, Laura Mullowney, Oliver Ormson, Mark Oxtoby, Katharine Pearson, Jemma Revell, Jake Small, Justin Thomas and Michael Zhangazha.

Again, Back to the Future the musical will debut at the Manchester Opera House on February 20th, 2020. The show will run for a strictly limited 12-week run (ending May 17th) before transferring to London’s West End. Click here for ticket info, your future depends on it!
