In a video posted to social media, Marvel Studios revealed the expansive cast of the upcoming movie Avengers: Doomsday. The video also confirmed that production on the film has begun. Over the course of hours, a live stream showed a series of folding chairs with the actors’ names printed on them.

Avengers: Doomsday Cast Announcement
The announced cast of Avengers: Doomsday includes characters from many different factions that have appeared throughout Marvel’s onscreen live-action adaptations. However, it isn’t just characters who have previously appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Also included are actors who have previously appeared only in the Fox Marvel mutant movies. Plus, it’s worth noting that only the actors’ names were officially released. We’ve included who we think they’re playing. But they may be playing variants or different characters altogether.

First up are the Thunderbolts from the upcoming Thunderbolts*. They include Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as The Red Guardian, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Wyatt Russell as U.S Agent, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost and Lewis Pullman as Sentry. Next are the characters from Black Panther and its sequel. These are Letitia Wright as Black Panther, Winston Duke as M’Baku and Tenoch Huerta Mejia as Namor.
Coming up next are the Fantastic Four from the titular upcoming movie. Their roster includes Pedro Pascal as Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as The Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as The Human Torch and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing. But of course, the Avengers will be there as well. They will be represented by Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor Odinson, Danny Ramirez as Falcon, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man and Simu Liu as Shang-Chi.

Coming Over From Fox
Finally, there are the X-Men. These include Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, James Marsden as Cyclops, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique and Channing Tatum as Gambit. Rounding out the voluminous cast are Tom Hiddleston as Loki and Robert Downey, Jr. as Dr. Doom.
Avengers: Doomsday will hit theaters on May 1, 2026. Its follow-up, Avengers: Secret Wars, will premiere on May 7, 2027. Before you go, check out the cast announcement video here:
