Welcome back to another installment of GGA’s monthly Anime Roundup, where we cover everything coming out in August 2024 on the most popular streaming services, such as Crunchyroll, Netflix, Hulu and HIDIVE.
The heat of August is upon us, and the anime release schedule is on fire. We’ve got a great month of new anime content ahead, mostly being released to Netflix. There are a couple of films and several fan-favorite series returning this month. Let’s get into everything you’ll be watching this month.

From Me to You: Kimi ni Todoke (Season 3)
You are reading that headline correctly: From Me to You: Kimi ni Todoke is returning for a surprise third season after over a decade. Although she struggles with her blossoming feelings, Sawako comes to terms with herself and tells Kazehaya how she feels about him. Attracted by Sawako’s unnoticed efforts and genuine personality, Kazehaya also candidly makes his feelings known. Thus, their new relationship begins.
From Me to You: Kimi ni Todoke returns on Netflix on August 1, 2024.
The Deer King (2021)
The Deer King is a highly acclaimed, sweeping fantasy epic that marks the directing debut of Masashi Ando, whose work on such landmark films as Spirited Away and Your Name. In the aftermath of a brutal war, former soldier Van toils in a mine controlled by the ruling empire. One day, his solitary existence is upended when a pack of wild dogs carrying a deadly and incurable disease attack, leaving only Van and a young girl named Yuna as survivors. Intent on protecting Yuna at all costs, Van must uncover the true cause of the plague ravaging the kingdom—and its possible cure.
The Deer King animated film joins the Netflix lineup on August 1, 2024.

Delico’s Nursery

True Beauty anime is based on the popular webtoon of the same name. Once bullied for her looks, Jugyeong transforms herself using the art of makeup. When she joins a new school with a True Beauty goddess competition, offering winners the chance of recruitment by entertainment agencies, she instantly becomes a top candidate. But her new identity is at stake when heartthrob Suho Lee accidentally sees her bare face. Will her elite status be short-lived?

Pokémon Horizons: The Series (Part 3)
Liko finally learns the identity of the Pokémon who was her pendant—Terapagos—and the Rising Volt Tacklers have a lead on another one of the Six Heroes. The Explorers won’t just sit around and watch, though—they’re going on the offensive as they pursue Terapagos, and the black Rayquaza is in their sights next.
