Crisis on Infinite Earths has cast a key figure in the crisis. Audrey Marie Anderson will be pulling double duty as Arrow’s Lyla Michaels and Harbinger, The Monitor’s (LaMonica Garrett) assistant. Comicbook.com was the first to break the story that included the first look at Anderson as Harbinger. See below.
In the comics, Lyla Michaels/Harbinger works closely with The Monitor, monitoring the multiverse’s superheroes. Harbinger has the ability to clone herself. Doing just that, she sent her clones to different Earths to recruit these heroes and some villains. During the Crisis, a shadow demon merged with one of Lyla’s doppelgangers and Anti-Monitor used her to kill The Monitor.
In the Arrowverse, Anderson plays Lyla Michaels, Director of A.R.G.U.S. and wife to John Diggle/Spartan (David Ramsey). She used the code name Harbinger since Season 1. It’s interesting that these signs have been present in the series. Lyla is in a position to find and understand the heroes of Earth-1. She could have been doing some recruiting during her time at A.R.G.U.S.
“Lyla Michaels as Harbinger is a key component of the original Crisis on Infinite Earths that we were determined to honor in our crossover,” executive producer Marc Guggenheim said in a statement.
Crisis on Infinite Earths is currently filming in Vancouver. The five part series will begin Sunday, December 8 on Supergirl, followed by Batwoman on Monday December 9, then The Flash on Tuesday, December 10. It will conclude on Tuesday, January 14 with back to back episodes of Arrow and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
