720x405-rexusa_1295111cI hold great admiration for retired Canadian astronaut, Colonel Chris Hadfieldand am so excited that he will be releasing an entire album recorded in space. IN SPACE!!!

We all know him from his cover of David Bowie’s Space Oddity which was recorded, of course, in space. It was also the first music video ever to be recorded in space. It went viral and put Hadfield on the map. He was already active on social media while completing missions, giving all of us earth-bound folks a real glimpse into what was going on up there, on a daily basis.

The serenity and grace I felt while orbiting our Earth, weightless by the window, gave a whole new place to write and perform music. I’m delighted to be able to share these completed works as a new way to help tell the stories of early space exploration- Chris Hadfield

The album, called World’s First Album In Space, is set to be released sometime later this year will feature fellow Canadian bands like The Barenaked Ladies and Buck 65 and will be produced by Robbie Lackritz.
