Ashley Park is traveling from Paris to New York City. As first reported by Deadline, the Emily in Paris star has joined the cast of Hulu’s hit murder-mystery comedy Only Murders in the Building for Season 3.
Only Murders in the Building is amassing a crop of heavy hitters on the acting front. The series already showcases mega-stars Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez as a mystery-solving trio who bonds over a mutual love of true crime podcasts. Besides our Arconia-dwelling leads, Season 3 will feature Paul Rudd, Jesse Williams, Andrea Martin and Meryl Streep. Oh, and Mrs. Gambolini, of course.
If you recall, Season 2 ended on a cliffhanger. After solving Bunny’s murder and putting her killers behind bars, Mabel (Gomez), Charles (Martin) and Oliver (Short) embark on a new chapter in their lives. Charles starts dating Joy (Andrea Martin) and stars in a Broadway play helmed by Oliver. Mabel redecorates her apartment and moves forward from past tragedies that entrapped her.

One actor meets their demise during the opening night of said play. Ben Glenroy (Rudd), Charles’ costar, dies onstage during his monologue. Now, our crew must solve a case situated outside the Arconia.
Williams will recur as a documentarian interested in Glenroy’s case, while Streep’s role is under wraps. As for Park, the actress will recur as Kimber, a Broadway ingenue.
Park stars as Mindy Chen in Netflix’s Emily in Paris and recurs as Ashley Gold in the Tina Fey-produced Girls5eva, which found a new home at the streamer for Season 3. Other film/TV credits for the Tony award-nominee, who originated the role of Gretchen Wieners in the Mean Girls Broadway production, include Mr. Malcolm’s List, Tales of the City and The Accidental Wolf. Park can be seen this year in Adele Lim‘s comedy Joy Ride opposite Stephanie Hsu and the Netflix/A24 series Beef from Lee Sung Jin.

Ashley Park’s comedic chops are top-notch. I’ve no doubt she’ll knock it out of the park (I’m sorry) as a Broadway ingenue in this world of fantastical and eccentric characters. Will she become a suspect in the investigation? That remains to be seen.
