Take all of this with a total grain of salt, but a report out of Latino Review claims that Ender’s Game actor, Asa Butterfield, is the frontrunner for the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man. According to one of their sources, “Marvel had liked him since day one.”
The 18-year old Butterfield was mentioned in a report with four other actors last week and the Marvel/Sony alliance is expected to make a decision in the next couple weeks.
Sony/Marvel’s solo Spider-Man film is slated for July, 2017.
