Arrowverse crossover event, SDCC

The CW confirmed the next Arrowverse crossover, Crisis on Infinite Earths will be massive. Entertainment Weekly reported that the heroes of Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, and Batwoman will all take part in the five hour event.

This crisis has been lurking since the last crossover ended. In Elseworlds, the Monitor (LaMonica Garrett) came to Earth 1 to test the heroes as kind of a recruitment test for the impending crisis. By the end of the crossover, Green Arrow/Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) made a deal with the Monitor to save the lives of the Flash/Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Supergirl/Kara Zor-El Danvers (Melissa Benoist). Batwoman/Kate Kane (Ruby Rose) joined the Arrowverse during Elseworlds.  Unfortunately the Legends were not a part of that crossover, so they have no idea what’s coming.

The crisis has already begun for Oliver. The Monitor returned in the Arrow season 7 finale to collect on his debt. His only warning was that Oliver would not survive this crisis. The crisis affected Barry as well. In The Flash season five finale, a new timeline began with a new headline about the Flash’s disappearance. According to the headline, the Flash will disappear in crisis in 2019 instead of 2024.

The Arrowverse line-up for the 2019-2020 television season was also announced. Batwoman will join Supergirl on Sundays. Arrow moves to Tuesday nights after The Flash. Legends of Tomorrow is set for a winter premiere.

The Supergirl season four finale airs on Sunday May 19. The Legends of Tomorrow season four finale airs on Monday May 20. The Arrowverse crossover, Crisis on Infinite Earths, happens in December 2019 on the CW.
