On August 8, it was reported five episodes of Arcane Season 2 were circulating online as well as seven episodes of Heartstopper Season 3. Then today, Netflix made an official statement stating, “One of our post-production partners has been compromised and footage from several of our titles has unfortunately leaked online. Our team is aggressively taking action to have it taken down.”
At the same time, Iyuno, a company offering post-production services such as dubbing and subtitling, issued their own statement. “Protecting our clients’ confidentiality and ensuring the security of their content is our highest priority. We are actively investigating this security breach to mitigate any potential risks and identify the responsible parties.”

How Leaks Affect Streamers and Fans
In a world where streaming numbers determine the future of a series, the franchise, and potentially the platform itself, premature leaks and the pirated use of the material have devastating effects on everyone involved in a production. Releasing footage in its rough, unfinished form disrespects the effort, artistry, and skill that goes into producing these shows. Furthermore, it robs fans of the joy of experiencing the show as it was intended.
According to Netflix’s schedule, Heartstopper Season 3 drops on October 3. Arcane Season 2, the final season of the series based on the popular online game, League of Legends, premieres in November. So, fans hoping to avoid spoilers should tread carefully online for the next few months.
