Aquaman 2 is officially heading to theaters soon. Warner Bros announced the squeal for December 16, 2022.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jason Momoa is expected to return as Arthur Curry aka Aquaman for the second installment. David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick co-wrote the first film and is officially on board to write Aquaman 2. As for Aquaman director James Wan, he is on board to produce, but no word about directing…yet. Peter Safran will also return to produce.

Aquaman grossed more than $1.14 billion at the worldwide box office, making it the highest grossing DCEU film ever. It’s the second highest grossing film in the US for DC, next to Wonder Woman.
Warner Bros also announced the development of a spin-off horror movie focusing on The Trench kingdom. The Trench is home to the deadly amphibious creatures who attack Aquaman and Mera (Amber Heard) in the first film. That film is expected to have a new director and cast.
Aquaman will be available on Blu Ray and DVD on March 26, 2019. Stay tuned to Geek Girl Authority for the latest news on Aquaman 2.
