Ever since Apex Legends was launched over a year ago, it has consistently released new game seasons approximately every three months. Now the fifth season ‘Fortune’s Favor’ is officially live, and has introduced a host of changes including a new hero, battle pass, and enticing rewards.

Make no mistake there’s a ton of stuff packed into Apex Legends Season 5, and you’ll find out all that you need to know about it right here.

New Character: Loba

Being billed as a ‘High Society Thief’, Loba is a unique, classy, and sophisticated addition to the Apex Legends character roster. She is an agile support class that specializes in making sure that her squad is able to get its hands on tons of loot.

Loba’s three abilities are really quite different from any other character, and encompass:

  • Burglar’s Best Friend which will teleport Loba so that she can escape or get into hard-to-reach places.
  • Eye for Quality that is a passive which lets Loba see nearby Epic or Legendary loot – even through walls.
  • Black Market Boutique which is Loba’s ultimate and places a portable device that allows her to teleport nearby loot into her inventory.

All in all it is safe to say that any squad with Loba on it should have no trouble finding and retrieving loot that could possibly alter the entire flow of the game.

Map Changes

In the Season 5 launch trailer it looked like Loba’s actions really did a number on Skull Town, by sinking it all the way to the bottom of the ocean. However that isn’t the only change to the King’s Canyon map, which is now a ‘completely new beast’ according to the Apex Legends developers.

Some of the more significant changes to King’s Canyon are:

  • Skull Town and Thunderdome removed to make other parts of the map stand out.
  • Place of interest called ‘Salvage’ added to the Broken Coast.
  • New Zone called Offshore Rig added to where Relay and Wetlands used to be.
  • New Charged Towers uncovered that can be used to recharge players’ Ultimates.

When Season 5 first went live, King’s Canyon was designated as the only map available for two weeks so that players would have the chance to get used to it. The standard map rotation has now already resumed however.

Battle Pass Cost

Everyone who plays Season 5 can earn the Huntswoman Loba skin, five Apex Packs, and Season 5 Win Trackers for all their legends. But just as with previous seasons if you want to really capitalize on Fortune’s Favor – you need to purchase a battle pass.

The cost of a battle pass is the same as it was in previous seasons – meaning that the Season 5 Battle Pass can be bought in-game for 950 Apex Coins.

Alternatively it is possible to buy the Battle Pass Bundle for 2,800 Apex Coins. If you purchase it, you’ll not only acquire the battle pass, but also unlock it all the way to level 25 right off the bat.

Battle Pass Rewards

The main reason to buy a battle pass is so that you can accumulate Stars as you play. The more stars you accumulate, the more you’ll be able to level up your battle pass and unlock rewards. Completing Quests or Daily and Weekly Challenges can also help to level up the battle pass, and you can get a leg up with Overboost.

As soon as you purchase the Season 5 Battle Pass, you’ll unlock the Legendary Hemlock Burst AR Retrofitted skin as well as the Rare Wraith Silver Specter, Revenant Death Etching, and Bloodhound Gilded Claw skins.

Subsequently every level will let you unlock more and more rewards all the way up to level 110. The rewards include Apex Packs, skins, music packs, banner poses and numerous other types of content.

Some of the more notable rewards are the Legendary unlockables, which include the Fool’s Gold Mirage skin (level 25), Sky Marshal Bangalore skin (level 50), and Precision Caliber (level 100) as well as Attention to Detail Wingman (level 110) skins.

Final Words

Now that Season 5 is underway, it has proven to be everything that Respawn Entertainment said it would be – and then some. The sheer amount of content in this latest season has made it the biggest and most impressive season of Apex Legends to date.

And keep in mind that the content is still rolling in with the Lost Treasures event that is scheduled to go live on June the 23rd.

If you’re already an Apex Legends player, you should definitely take advantage of what Season 5 has to offer and try out all the new content that is available. If you aren’t, now is the perfect time to start since all the rewards available are completely exclusive to Season 5 and you won’t be able to get them in the future.
