APARTMENT 7A: First Look and Release Date for Julia Garner’s ‘Rosemary’s Baby’ Prequel

Paramount+ released first-look images for the Julia Garner-led psychological horror thriller, Apartment 7A. We also got a release date. The film will drop on the streaming network on Friday, September 27.

Apartment 7A is a prequel to the 1968 Roman Polanski horror classic, Rosemary’s Baby, starring Mia Farrow. The film has been described as an “all-new, original film” and will be set in 1965 and will reveal the events that took place in the ill-fated apartment before Rosemary her husband moved in.

What’s Happening in Apartment 7A?

In Apartment 7A, an ambitious young dancer Terry Gionoffrio (Garner) dreams of fame and fortune in New York City, but after suffering a devastating injury, an older, wealthy couple (Dianne Wiest and Kevin McNally) welcomes her into their home in the luxury apartment building the Bramford. When fellow resident and influential Broadway producer (Jim Sturgess) offers her another chance at fame, it seems that all her dreams are finally coming true. However, after an evening she can’t fully remember, disturbing circumstances soon have her second-guessing the sacrifices she’s willing to make for her career as she realizes that something evil is living not only in Apartment 7A, but in the Bramford itself.

Apartment 7A also stars Marli Siu (Everything I Know About Love), Andrew Buchan (All the Money in the World), Rosy McEwen (Blue Jean) and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith (Wonka). The film is directed by Natalie Erika James. and written by James, Christian White and Skylar James.

The Movie That Made Us Suspicious of Our Neighbors

In the original film, Rosemary’s Baby, a young woman, Rosemary Woodhouse (Farrow) and her struggling actor husband Guy (John Cassavetes) move to a spooky New York City apartment building and meet several of their odd neighbors, including Roman and Minnie Castavet (Sidney Blackmer, Ruth Gordon). When Rosemary becomes pregnant she becomes increasingly isolated, and the diabolical truth about both her neighbors and her baby is revealed after Rosemary gives birth.
