Anthony Ramos is moving from the musical In the Heights to Marvel’s Ironheart! As reported exclusively by Deadline, Ramos joins the upcoming Disney Plus series in a “key role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.” Of course, as per the entertainment juggernaut’s usual, details regarding Ramos’s role remain under lock and key.

Dominique Thorne stars as Riri Williams, a brilliant inventor and creator of advanced armor rivaling Iron Man. Chinaka Hodge serves as the head writer for Ironheart, joining the superhero show in April of last year

Deadline‘s sources reveal Ramos’s introduction “will be similar to how Jonathan Majors was introduced as Kang the Conqueror in Loki.” He’ll have a significant role in Ironheart and future MCU projects.

As of now, we don’t have a release date for Ironheart. However, Deadline‘s sources believe Riri Williams will make her debut before Ironheart in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, premiering in theaters this November.

Riri Williams burst onto the comic book scene in 2016. Created by writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Mike Deodato, she’s a 15-year-old MIT student who successfully reverse-engineers Iron Man’s suit. After completing her suit of armor, Tony Stark commends Riri for her work and encourages her to become a superhero.

Ramos’s big break came when he joined the cast of Broadway’s Hamilton in 2015, originating the dual roles of John Laurens and Philip Hamilton. In 2018, he portrayed Ramon in the Bradley Cooper/Lady Gaga-led remake of A Star Is Born

Then, last year, Ramos starred in the film adaptation of the Lin-Manuel Miranda musical In the Heights as Usnavi. His next projects include the sci-fi drama Distant and the animated flick The Bad Guys, slated for release this year.

Here’s hoping we learn more about who he’s playing in Ironheart! For now, all we can do is speculate.
