In an appearance on WTTG Fox 5 (via comicbookmovie.com), Anthony Mackie, who plays the Falcon in the MCU, discussed his new film Black or White as well as dropping a few great hints about his costume in Captain America: Civil War as well as the upcoming Marvel Phase 3.
On his costume, he said, “I have a brand new costume; I’m full in effect.” Think we can look forward to seeing him finally don his full red costume from the comics? My best guess is that it’ll be closer to what he wears as Captain America now.
As for Captain America: Civil War, he said, “I will tell you this: Cap 3 is gonna be everything you can imagine. Cap 2 was really Avengers 1.5, and Cap 3 is gonna be Avengers 3.8..”
That is quite the claim! Avengers 3.8? That must be some script! Along those lines, does that mean we can expect to see all of our heroes returning to this film? Or will we be introduced to some new ones?
Finally, with rumors about that Captain America will be assassinated at the end of Civil War, as he was in the comics, Mackie was asked about him taking up the mantle of Captain America. His response was, “My thing is, I’ve done one of these movies. I love working with Chris [Evans], he’s one of my closest friends. So, as long as it’s me and Chris playing Falcon and Cap, I’m all cool with being Falcon.”
