With Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire and Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches already airing on AMC, it makes sense that the network will launch another installation in the Anne Rice Immortal Universe. John Lee Hancock (The Blind Side) and Mark Lafferty (Halt and Catch Fire) will act as writers, executive producers and co-showrunners for the new series. Hancock will also direct. According to Deadline, Season 1 will have six episodes, with production scheduled to begin in Manchester, England this fall.
The Talamasca
The new series will follow the Talamasca, a secret society that tracks and contains witches, vampires, werewolves and other creatures. Fans of Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire and Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches know members of the Talamasca have already been introduced.

Interview with the Vampire is currently airing its second season. In it, journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian) enlisted the Talamasca’s help in his interview with Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson). An agent assigned to monitor Rowan Fielding (Alexandra Daddario) also appeared in the first season of Mayfair Witches. Season 2 is currently filming in Dublin.
Anne Rice Immortal Universe producer Mark Johnson stated, “With the second season of Interview with the Vampire currently receiving the best reviews of any show on television and with the production of Mayfair Witches about to wrap in Ireland, promising an even more compelling and unnerving second season, the question is what do we now add to the Immortal Universe of Anne Rice?
The answer is a completely different show from the first two, but a show that nevertheless belongs under the Anne Rice umbrella. The Talamasca marries the procedural spy thriller with the supernatural and expands the thrills and the pleasures of our franchise’s ambitions.”
