Apparently this summer is the summer of killer dolls. Not only do we have Child’s Play’s Chucky running amok but now, with the release of its official trailer, we have The Conjuring’s spin off star Annabelle causing a ruckus in her new movie, Annabelle Comes Home.

While the Annabelle movies have proven to be pretty hit or miss, the new trailer from New Line Cinema looks promising as we see demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren (Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga) decide to put an end to Annabelle’s reign of terror once and for all. So they make a plan to lock the doll away. It seems like a stroke of genius until you realize they’re locking Annabelle “safely” away in their home. In a room filled with even more haunted items.  Clearly a storage unit was out of the question.

We see more bad decision making take place when a friend of the Warren’s daughter is warned to stay out of the artifacts room. Then ignores said warning. Like a total brat. This results in Annabelle escaping her glass prison, along with a whole bunch of evil spirits. Personally, I’m excited for this addition. The trailer makes it looks like the whole movie is an evil take on Night at the Museum. Which makes for an oddly delightful combo. Check out the trailer below!

Paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren keep a possessed doll locked up in an artifacts room in their house. When the doll awakens the room’s evil spirits, it soon becomes a night of terror for the couple’s young daughter and her friends.

Annabelle Comes Home debuts in theaters June 28th, 2019.
