Welcome to part two of the 2022 October Anime Roundup. In part one, we covered everything coming out in the first week of October, so in this second part, we will be covering the rest of the month’s releases.
Remember that due to the Funimation/Crunchyroll merger, there is no new anime debuting on Funimation. Funimation will continue to add episodes of current shows, but the new series will air exclusively on Crunchyroll. We will miss Funimation, but as we look to the future, we have everything here you should watch.

The story follows Hitori “Bocchi-chan” (“Loner”) Goto, a lonely high school girl whose heart lies in her guitar. She does nothing every day except strum her guitar by herself at home. However, she happens one day to meet Nijika Ijichi, who is looking for a guitarist for her group named “Kessoku Band.”
Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun – October 8
Human boy Suzuki Iruma becomes “grandson” to the great demon Sullivan and begins attending demon school where “Grandpa” serves as chair. Winning friends—and rising in demon rank, too—Iruma thrives in his new environment, overcoming the harrowing ordeals thrown his way.

Chainsaw Man – October 11
We’ve been waiting awhile to talk Chainsaw Man for the anime roundup. Denji is a teenage boy living with a Chainsaw Devil named Pochita. Due to the debt his father left behind, he has been living a rock-bottom life while repaying his debt by harvesting devil corpses with Pochita. One day, Denji is betrayed and killed. As his consciousness fades, he makes a contract with Pochita and gets revived as “Chainsaw Man” — a man with a devil’s heart.
Exception – October 13
“What is a human?” An all-star staff including writer Hirotaka Adachi (aka Otsuichi), character designer Yoshitaka Amano, composer Ryuichi Sakamoto and director Yuzo Sato presents a completely original space horror sci-fi story. Answer the question on Netflix coming October 13.
Pokémon Ultimate Journeys – October 21
Netflix has the exclusive rights to show the new Pokemon anime series. It follows the adventures of Ash and Pikachu as they journey with their new friend Goh. Get ready for nonstop action, familiar faces from journeys past and more Pokémon discoveries to be made!
