It’s time to give it all for the Rebellion. D23 Expo 2022 continues on Saturday, September 10, 2022, with more galactic delights, including the final trailer for the highly anticipated Star Wars series, Andor.
Here’s a synopsis for the spy thriller series per Disney Media:
“The Andor series will explore a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning Rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It’s an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.”

Andor stars Diego Luna as the titular hero, Cassian Andor, and Genevieve O’Reilly, reprising her Rogue One: A Star Wars Story role as Mon Mothma. The ensemble cast features Adria Arjona as Bix Caleen, who, according to Arjona at D23, will have an “on-again, off-again” relationship with Andor. Other significant players include Kyle Soller, portraying a character we’ll love to hate, with Stellan Skarsgård as Luthen Rael, Fiona Shaw as Maarva Andor and Forest Whitaker reprising his Rogue One role as Saw Gerrera.
The series hails from creator Tony Gilroy, with Benjamin Caron at the helm for 11 episodes.
At the D23 Expo panel, producer Kathleen Kennedy described Andor as a 24-episode spy thriller. Season 2 of the series is also on the cusp of production.

In the trailer, you can see those spy thriller elements at play as Andor and company prepare to fight for their lives against the Empire. This series is easily one of my most anticipated for 2022, at least in the Star Wars universe. I think the Powers That Be will surprise us with something truly entertaining, action-packed and intriguing.
