During Gamescom 2017, Xbox helped unveil a brand new trailer for Assassin’s Creed: Origins. The cinematic trailer delivers on the visuals as we’re introduced to the stunning landscape players will enter. The Ptolemaic Kingdom just earned a lot more justice.

The trailer shows us that things aren’t going so well in the kingdom. With a leading visual of a scorpion being eaten by maggots, we can see that people are in desperate need of help. We then see the brief life of a Pharaoh – rule, die, become mummified, build a pyramid to secure the remains. Things get shaken up, however, when Julius Caesar has come and Cleopatra becomes his powerful ally.

We’re then introduced to Bayek, whom we can only assume is, if not one of, the original Assassins. Bayek is a Medjay who is doing is best to protect the people. And with the invasion of Caesar and the Templar, he must fight them. We get to see some of his skills as he fights the Templar Knights who are protecting a political figure hidden behind a mask. But when the sand clears, was the masked man ever there? This is just the beginning of a mystery Bayek is sure to unwind.
