The first images of the third and still untitled The Walking Dead series have surfaced. AMC released the photos ahead of the new series’ first New York Comic Con panel this weekend.
AMC announced the new series back in April, mentioning that the show “will feature two young female protagonists and focus on the first generation to come-of-age in the apocalypse as we know it. Some will become heroes. Some will become villains. In the end, all of them will be changed forever. Grown-up and cemented in their identities, both good and bad.”
AMC revealed the cast and a teaser trailer shortly after San Diego Comic Con. In the teaser, the young lead cast described what it was like growing up in the apocalypse. And now they are grown and ready to explore the world. TWD chief content manager Scott Gimple also teased a big secret about the TWD universe. It’s this secret that the cast is out to discover.
Gimple and Matt Negrete created this third installment. Negrete wrote and produced on The Walking Dead for the last five years. He will also serve as the showrunner for the third series. Jordan Vogt-Roberts is directing the pilot episode.
TWD-3 stars Aliyah Royale, Alexa Mansour, Annet Mahendru, Nicolas Cantu, Hal Cumpston, and Nico Tortorella. We’re expecting to see more of this cast and hopefully get some new details about the series at NYCC 2019. Let’s hope they finally announce the title of the series.
TWD-3 is currently in production in Virginia. The series will debut in Spring 2020. Check out the photos below.
