Truth Seekers is the latest freshmen show to end up on the chopping block, as Amazon Prime cancels the Nick Frost and Simon Pegg comedy after one season. According to Deadline, Frost confirmed the cancelation in the following statement on Instagram that has since been deleted.

“Sadly, Truth Seekers will not be returning for a second season. Truth Seekers has not been renewed, which is a massive kick in the willy for me. We really put our all into this – our heart and soul, and blood in some cases — so to not come back is really sad for us. It’s a shame. I think we had lots of lovely ghost stories to tell, stories that will remain untold. If you liked the show, thank you. I really, really appreciate your support. And if you didn’t, well, are you happy now? Happy now?”

Truth Seekers followed a team of part-time paranormal investigators searching for ghosts and paranormal activity across the UK. The show also starred Malcolm McDowell, Samson Kayo, Emma D’Arcy and Susan Wokoma. The first season had eight episodes and ended with some unanswered questions.

This is so disappointing. I, for one, was looking forward to finding out what was in store for season two. Malcolm McDowell was so intriguing in this show. His character had an underlying story that we barely got into. And there was a major reveal about Simon Pegg’s character in the finale that I wish we could have explored more. It would be great if another network or streaming service saved the show, but that’s highly unlikely. Boo.

You can still stream the series on Amazon Prime.
