All Hell Breaks Loose in First Trailer for HELLBOY

When the announcement was made that a Hellboy reboot was in the works, there was a split in the fandom. Many were upset, many were excited. But with this first look at the reboot, things seem to be turning out alright for Big Red. Or at least as well as they can be for a half-demon on Earth.

In the trailer we see a teaser of the story. Hellboy (David Harbour) is working with the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense, doing his best not to be shot by his own team. Together he, Alice Monaghan (Sasha Lane) and Ben Daimio (Daniel Dae Kim) will team up to bring down the impending threat of hell breaking loose on Earth. Nimue aka The Blood Queen (Milla Jovovich) is amassing an army and it’s up to them to stop the Medieval queen. There’s monsters and zombies and Hellboy’s fist of doom.

The trailer is pretty good! It seems more like a teaser than a trailer, to be honest. The film looks to be balancing a darker side of gory effects with a lot of humor. I’m not sure if that’s what they were going for, but that’s the path they’re on! David Harbour looks GREAT and seems to be having the time of his life. If there’s one complaint I have with the trailer, it’s the use of Billy Idol’s “Mony Mony”. It just seems really odd over the footage we were shown. Am I the only one that thinks that?
