Entertainment Weekly dropped some big casting news for Netflix‘s sixth and final season of Lucifer today. They have learned that Merrin Dungey and Brianna Hildebrand have been cast and will have ties to the show’s angelic family.
Merrin Dungey, known for her roles as Francine Calfo from Alias, and Ursula in Once Upon a Time, will be portraying Sonya. According to her character description, she will be a uniformed cop who forms an unlikely bond with Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside). Brianna Hildebrand, Deadpool‘s Negasonic Teenage Warhead, will be portraying Rory. She is a rebellious teen who looks up to Lucifer (Tom Ellis) and hopes to walk in his footsteps. Though it seems like Lucifer might not be the big bro she was hoping for.
Don’t get too excited to meet these two just yet. We still have the entire back half of season five to get through first. Of course, like all good things, Covid-19 had a hand in delaying season 5B. When it eventually does premiere, we will dive into the aftermath of the midseason’s finale, which includes God (Dennis Haysbert) descending from Heaven to break up Lucifer, Amenadiel and Michael’s (Ellis) all-out brawl.
The first eight episodes of Lucifer‘s fifth season are currently available to stream now on Netflix. Season 5B will be arriving soon, hopefully. Season six is currently still in production. Be sure to check back with us for more news on upcoming casting for Lucifer’s final season.
