AGGRETSUKO Is Getting a Very Metal Christmas Special

Your holiday season is about to get a little more metal. Announced today by Netflix, we learned that our favorite hardcore red panda Retsuko will be getting her own Christmas special! As a gift to fans who have to wait until sometime in 2019 for a season two, we’ll have a 22 minute special called Aggretsuko: We Wish You A Metal Christmas. Things are sure to get wild!

The special will follow Retsuko as her new found social media obsession threatens to ruin her Christmas. Her co-worker Haida is still hoping to spend Christmas with her, though. Will sparks fly for the love-sick hyena or will Retsuko be oblivious as always? Just how will her obsession be quelled in time to not completely ruin Christmas? Not only are we getting a special, but the episode features a punk cover of “Jingle Bells” performed by Tim Timebomb and the Interrupters. The cover is set to be the opening and closing theme of the episode, giving us one heck of a musical experience.

I really enjoyed season 1 of the show. When the character first debuted, I was in love. A red panda that works in an office setting but loves metal?! Come on! That’s so funny (and relatable). But I wasn’t expecting the show to be as cute and funny as it was. Having a Christmas special is really fun and definitely a nice treat for fans. I’m looking forward to seeing what will happen to her and all our favorite characters!
