AGENTS OF SHIELD Unveils Final Season Poster

As excitement continues to build, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. reveals the poster for its highly-anticipated final season. We attempt to break it down below.

With May 27th fast approaching, ABC and Marvel continue to release promo for the seventh and (unfortunately) final season of their flagship superhero show (see below).

ABC/Marvel

This season’s poster is created by artist, Kyle Lambert (@kylelambert), who has in recent years created posters for Stranger Things and Blacklist, amongst others.

The poster depicts all eight of our main characters in the style of a vintage movie poster. We see them decked out in retro outfits, likely from different eras.

Coulson (Clark Gregg), albeit his LMD-self, takes the main focus donning a classic trench coat and fedora in true old-school spy fashion. And that’s not the only old-school spy action we’ll be getting this season, with the news of Agent Carter’s Daniel Sousa (Enver Gjokaj) making a guest appearance.

Below, Daisy (Chloe Bennet) is dressed in pretty 1930s attire. Much like Jemma (Elizabeth Henstridge) beneath, with a hairdo fitting of Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) herself!

Director Mack (Henry Simmons) is centre-positioned and seems ready for action yet again. However, it’s hard to ignore Deke (Jeff Ward) placed in front. His outfit is definitely not of the ’30s and reminds us that the team will be travelling to different periods of the 20th Century. Perhaps the 1980s too?

On that point, May (Ming-Na Wen) and Elena/Yo-yo (Natalia Cordova-Buckley) also seem dressed for a later period. Our guessing is the ’60s or ’70s. Could predictions be made that the team spend a larger amount of time in pre-war New York than other decades?

Lastly, a teeny-tiny Fitz (Iain de Caestecker) is featured towards the back, wearing modern clothing. His placing and outfit point to the fact that he is separated from the rest of the team (again!), and is probably still in the present-day.

It also suggests that he takes a smaller role this season, as confirmed by his smaller presence on set during filming.

Other aspects of the poster show a vintage car, although not a patch on Lola! A rocket blasting off, again maybe more evidence for a trip to the 1960s, and a diner, fittingly called the “Flying Rocket.” Let’s hope the team’s visit to this eatery is less eventful than their one at the end of Season Four!

Above our characters is what appears to be the Zephyr, their plane. Perhaps the only way for the team to get back to the future? With this being their “final mission,” though, we’ll be sure to cherish every moment!

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season Seven premieres Wednesday, May 27th, 8/9c, on ABC.
