They’re creepy and they’re kooky, and now they’re being animated. The Addams Family is coming back, this time in animated form. And according to The Hollywood Reporter, we have a director. An animation director, voice actor, storyboard artist (and more!) who worked on features such as Shrek, Madagascar and Sausage Party.
According to THR, Conrad Vernon is currently slated to direct the animated film featuring our favorite ghoulish family. Not too much is known about the project other than some key people behind the scenes. But according to the article, it will be CG animation which will be a first for the popular series.

The Addams Family was first created by Charles Addams for The New Yorker as a single-strip comic. It was a macabre look at the American family with a satire twist. The premise took on a life of it’s own, spinning off into TV shows, animated series and movies. Most notable is the 1990s films staring Anjelica Huston, Raul Juliá and Christopher Lloyd.
We can only hope with a guided hand that will do the film justice. The Addams Family is beloved and while I’m highly biased to the 90s films, it’ll be nice to see the mysterious family come back. Plus who doesn’t want to snap along to the theme once more?
