Supernatural‘s Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) have crossed the paths of many humans, monsters, angels, demons, and others in fourteen seasons. Among those are some very familiar faces from the Geekdom. Geek Girl Authority takes a look at some of the television and movie stars who have guest starred on the long-running series.

James Marsters and Charisma Carpenter

Supernatural

James Marsters and Charisma Carpenter appeared in season 7, episode 5, “Shut Up, Dr. Phil,” as a feuding witch couple. The duo is well known for their roles on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel.  Marsters is currently on Runaways and has appeared in so many television shows, such as Caprica and Smallville.  Carpenter also appeared on Charmed and Lucifer.

Tricia Helfer

Tricia Helfer appeared in season 2 episode 16, “Roadkill.”   Helfer’s character was being chased by a highway ghost.  Helfer’s best-known role is Number Six on Battlestar Galactica. She also appeared in Lucifer, Syfy series Ascension, and Suits

Adrianne Palicki

The Orville‘s Adrianne Palicki played Sam’s girlfriend Jessica Moore, who died in the pilot episode. She appeared in a few more episodes up until 2009, season 5, episode 3, “Free to Be You and Me.”  Palicki has also starred in Smallville, John Wick, and Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Lauren Cohan

The Walking Deads Lauren Cohan appeared in several episodes in 2007 and 2008 as Bela Talbot. Bela acquired supernatural objects for people and has some skill in contacting the dead. She was kind of a headache for the Winchesters. Cohan has also appeared in The Vampire Diaries, and Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice as Martha Wayne.

Jewel Staite

Firefly‘s Jewel Staite appeared in season 7, episode 3, “The Girl Next Door,” as a brain-eating old girlfriend of Sam’s. Staite has also appeared on Legends of Tomorrow, Stargate: Atlantis, and The Magicians

Katie Cassidy

The Arrow siren, Katie Cassidy appeared on Supernatural throughout in season 3. She played the demon Ruby until her cohort, Lilith sent her back to Hell.  She eventually returns in season 4, but in a different vessel. Cassidy also appeared in Gossip Girl and several Arrowverse shows.

Sterling K. Brown

This Is Us star Sterling K. Brown was in four episodes of season 3 as vampire hunter turn vampire Gordon Walker.  Brown has appeared in Alias, Predator, and Black Panther

Finn Wolfhard

Finn Wolfhard appeared in season 11, episode 5, “Thin Lizzie.” Sam and Dean investigate a murder at a home that used to belong to Lizzie Borden. Wolfhard is a young boy who lives in the house. The boy is orphaned when his parents are killed.  But we know that Wolfhard went on to star in Stranger Things, the movie It, and It‘s sequel It: Chapter 2

Alden Ehrenreich

Before he became Han Solo, Alden Ehrenreich was in Supernatural season 1, episode 2, “Wendigo.”  Sam and Dean are asked to help find Ehrenreich’s brother after he is taken by an old Native American monster. It was Ehrenreich’s first credited role.  He went on to star in Beautiful Creatures and Solo: A Star Wars Story

Many others have crossed into the Winchesters’ journey from many different fandoms. Some of them appeared early in their careers. Supernatural will come to an end at the conclusion of season 15.  I hope we get to see some of these familiar faces return before it’s all over.

Supernatural airs on Thursdays on the CW.
