unOrdinary

John watching two people fighting in the cafeteria.
unOrdinary WEBTOON Original Series.

We are kicking off this action WEBTOON series list with uru-chan‘s unOrdinary. We’ve chatted about this series and how much we love it, so it’s easy to see why it would make this list. Things are relatively easy for John. No one paid him any attention at high school since he wasn’t a part of the social elite who happen to possess unthinkable powers. But John’s got a pretty big secret, and when his past comes knocking, it threatens to bring down the school’s whole social order.

unOrdinary updates every Thursday and can be read here!

Teenage Mercenary

Ijin rushing through the halls while trying to get other soldiers out safely in the Teenage Mercenary action WEBTOON series.
Teenage Mercenary WEBTOON Original Series.

YC and Rakyeon’s Teenage Mercenary hooked us about three panels into the prologue. The story follows Ijin Yu, an orphan forced to become a child mercenary in order to stay alive. He eventually returns home to Korea and heads out on his most dangerous mission yet – surviving his final year of high school. And we all know how hard high school can be. This WEBTOON doesn’t just contain intense action scenes but some of our favorite character development and interactions.

Teenage Mercenary updates every Wednesday and can be read here!

Straylight Tiger

A mysterious girl waking up late and panicing.
Straylight Tiger WEBTOON Original Series.

World and story building are high on our must-haves in WEBTOON series. And to find them in action WEBTOON series – chef’s kiss quality. So, of course, it’s one of the reasons we love flying-frappe’s Straylight Tiger. Humans in this world have the ability to either shift into animals, manipulate powers or possess weapons created by otherworldly metals. So, obviously, things tend to escalate quickly. But when an extremist cult pops up, the world’s safe keeping is left to a secret task force.

Straylight Tiger updates every Friday and can be read here!

Hero Killer

The mysterious Hero Killer defending herself against one of the corrupt super heroes in Hero Killer WEBTOON series.
Hero Killer WEBTOON Original Series.

We’ve talked about Kkulbeoul and Beolkkul‘s Hero Killer on Saturday Morning Webtoons, but honestly, that wasn’t enough. In the battle against heroes and villains, one lone girl sets out on a bloody path of revenge. For fans of Amazon Prime Video’s The Boys, this is a perfect read. Heroes and villains with unique abilities? Check! A deep look at how people with power can become corrupted on both sides of the coin? Check! Tons of gritty action? Double check. Seriously – read this series.

Hero Killer updates every Tuesday and can be read here!

Cape of Spirits

Kanae and Jinsei hiding beyond a doorway avoiding getting shot.
Cape of Spirits WEBTOON Original Series.

Our next action WEBTOON series is an oldy but definitely a goody. Kris Nguyen’s Cape of Spirits was one of the first action series we were drawn to and opened up quite a lot of doors. The story follows royal heir turned fugitive Jinsei Kimura, who joins some unlikely allies to clear his name. The world-building, action and character development are on point with this story. And since it is already finished, you can binge it from beginning to end in just a few hours. Or take your time – your choice.

Cape of Spirits is completed and can be read here!

The Strongest Florist

Jaeho and his friend sneaking into the VR center in The Strongest Florist WEBTOON series.
The Strongest Florist WEBTOON Original Series.

Some action WEBTOON series are downright serious to the core. And then there is Hyun hoo Joo and Kumtata’s The Strongest Florist. It’s the perfect mix of action and humor. Jaeho has spent the last few years training under his father to become an MMA fighter and utter badass. Too bad it isn’t what he really wants to do since he is so good at it. Instead, he wants to open up a flower shop. And the new virtual reality game New World might be precisely what he needs to live out his dreams.

The Strongest Florist updates every Saturday and can be read here!

Covenant

An exorcist using his weapon to strike a demon.
Covenant WEBTOON Original Series.

Would this be an action WEBTOON list without including explodikid‘s Covenant? It is an entire series about exorcists who kick ass. And while yes, it is packed with action seeping out of every panel, it is so much more. The world-building is, and pardon my pun, out of this world, and all of the characters are extra in all the best ways. We dare anyone to start this series and not find themselves immediately pulled into the mystery and suspense. And with season two just starting, now is the perfect time to get in on the action.

Covenant updates every Sunday and can be read here!

Dungeons & Artifacts

Stetch nearly getting killed in the dungeon from the Dungeons & Artifacts WEBTOON series.
Dungeons & Artifacts WEBTOON Original Series.

We are simple readers here, and if it has dungeon in the name, chances are we are clicking on it. This brings us to Zerowater and UMKY’s Dungeons & Artifacts. When a dungeon-guiding gig goes terrible (as they usually do for us Dungeons and Dragons nerds), Stetch Atelier ends up dead. But, like in most dungeons, a sentient artifact resurrects him and offers him a deal that will help him get his revenge. His job now requires him to raid dungeons, slay monsters and make new friends and enemies along the way.

Dungeons & Artifacts updates every Monday and can be read here!

Code Adam

Group of Horrors fighting against each other.
Code Adam WEBTOON Original series.

Have you ever seen those silly memes where creators so they live on the tears of their readers? We are pretty sure this is how Atterozen has survived since starting Code Adam. It will have you laughing one minute and sobbing the next, and that is just in one chapter. Children, known as Horrors, were trained for a war that’s already done. So now what? How do they survive in a world where their skill set isn’t needed anymore? It’s packed with action but also thought-provoking to a level that will have you staring at the wall in thought well after finishing a chapter.

Code Adam updates every Monday and can be read here!

I’m the Grim Reaper

The reaper standing outside of a shop in the I'm The Grim Reaper WEBTOON series.
I’m the Grim Reaper WEBTOON Original Series.

Our final action WEBTOON series is none other than GRAVEWEAVER‘s I’m the Grim Reaper. We know you saw it coming. We absolutely love this series and can never get enough of it. It is a terrific take on the idea of dying and being forced to work for Satan himself as a grim reaper. Each chapter is packed with suspense, excitement and action. If we can’t sell you on how bad, you need to read it; watch The Warning‘s collab for the “Animosity” music video. You seriously don’t want to miss this.

I’m the Grim Reaper updates every Sunday and can be read here!
