According to a source at Hitfix, not only is the script coming along for the upcoming New Mutants movie, but three of the main cast are already in place.

Storm is in the film, as played by Alexandra Shipp, reprising her role from X-Men: Apocalypse which hits theaters May 27th. It hasn’t even hit theaters yet, but Fox Studios is already putting her in a future film. That’s a lot of faith to put into the actress and her character, which could speak well for the film if this rumor is to be believed.

But, you don’t care about a character that’s already been cast and we’ve already seen — you wanna see the new cast of characters.

Anya Taylor-Joy, who you may know from The Witch, has been cast as Ilyana Rasputin, better known by some as Magik, the sister to Peter Rasputin, a.k.a. Colossus.

Magik is, more or less, a sorceress born with magic. She grew up to inherit a demonic dimension and became the villain Darkchild for a while, before being rescued from that dimension to become the hero Magik once more.

But, perhaps the biggest news here would be that Game of Thrones actress Maisie Williams is attached as Rahne Sinclair, the staunchly Scottish Catholic girl who can transform into the feral werewolf Wolfsbane.

She is certainly one of the more emotionally complex of the team as she has a hard time accepting the virtue of who she is and what she can do along with her faith.

So, this is all well and good, but just who exactly are the New Mutants?

The New Mutants were a school of adolescent mutants meant to join the ranks of the X-Men as they grew older. They are, very much so, the new mutants to the team. Other than Wolfsbane and Magik, other prominent New Mutants were Cannonball, Sunspot and Mirage, all of whom, according to b, are also being cast for the film.

This is all rumor, so take it all with a grain of salt. That said, Maisie Williams as Wolfsbane has just got to be true. Please let that be true!
