Replacing the popular Mercenaries mode is Resident Evil Resistance, an asymmetrical online survival horror game mode included in the package of Capcom’s Resident Evil 3. Four survivors must escape the evil workings of the Mastermind. Here’s a closer look at Masterminds and Survivors.
Masterminds kidnapped young adults to experiment on and see how each reacts under pressure. As a Mastermind, you view the Survivors through security cameras scattered across each level. Each Mastermind has different cards and abilities to make the odds in their favor. Cards can range from spawning creatures, to placing traps, or turning the cameras into a deadly weapon.
Daniel Fabron – Daniel may not be a scientist, but has vast knowledge of the field. He is capable of taking control of zombies to attack survivors. He also has the ability to turn into more powerful enemies; however, they cost more points to use.
Annette Birkin – Annette is a top researcher and has the ability to use bioweapons to her advantage. She can take control of her husband, who is a mutated bioweapon named G-Birkin.
Alex Wesker – Alex is able to utilize all types of traps and take over devices to gain an advantage. She can also take the form of the Yateveo, which is similar to Ivy and Plant 42.
Ozwell E. Spencer – A founder for Umbrella, he is a man unable to face his past and refuses to learn to let go. With the research provided by Alex, he is able to use technology to turn the battle into his favor.
Young Adults kidnapped by Umbrella for experimental purposes. In Resident Evil Resistance, each survivor has their own class sets, as well as special ability skills to boost either themselves, or their team’s survival. Knowing your role is crucial in outsmarting the Mastermind and finding a decent team composition is the key to success. There are three stages, complete the third stage and escape to win. Throughout the game, you will take damage, go into a dying state or even die entirely. Respawning yourself or teammates; however, will remove a chunk of your time to get a level completed. Play wisely to spare as much time as possible. There are six survivors. Classes included Damage, Tank, Support and Hacker.

Valerie Harmon – Her class is Support. She can use her chemist knowledge to heal teammates. Survival Instinct marks nearby items and enemies to help her team. Modified First Aid Spray is a limited duration spray to help heal nearby teammates.
Tyrone Henry – His class is Tank. He has a high defense and does extremely well in close quarters. His ability Power Kick attacks enemies with a powerful kick; and Rally, which increases the team’s overall morale and decreases damage taken for a short period of time.
Becca Woolett – Her class is Damage and she is highly talented with guns. Sentry Stance helps her focus aim in exchange for mobility. Her other ability Bullet Storm allows her to shoot an unlimited amount of bullets for a short period of time.
Martin Sandwich – His class is Support. He is an engineer who is able to use traps so the team always has the upper hand. Makeshift Mine is a trap that explodes once an enemy is near while Flash Baton produces a blinding flash, incapacitating enemies for a short period of time.
