It’s been eight great seasons for the CW’s Arrow. That all comes to an end this winter. The CW released the final season poster featuring The Green Arrow/Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) with the tagline “Heroes Fall. Legends Rise.”
The final season will premiere in a couple of weeks and going in, we are sure that Oliver’s fate is sealed. At the end of season seven, the Monitor Mar Novu (LaMonica Garrett) told Oliver he would lose his life in the upcoming crisis. That tagline alone makes believe the Monitor’s prediction. The final season will only be ten episodes, one that takes place during the Crisis on Infinite Earths.
Last week, executive producer Marc Guggenheim told Entertainment Weekly that Arrow‘s final season will revisit the series greatest hits. That explains the resurrected characters that have shown up in the photos from the first episode. Amell added, “Episode 1 is like season 1, episode 2 is about a very specific part of season 3. Episode 3 is about a very specific part of the latter half of season 3. Every episode feels like an event. It feels like a limited series.”
Amell also said Oliver won’t be alone on his travels with The Monitor. John Diggle (David Ramsey) and Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy Rodgers) will be with him on this final journey. Their dynamic is incredible,” Ramsey says. “A good chunk of what we’re doing will be with the three of them in a way that they haven’t been before.” Everything leads to the crossover and the impending end of the Green Arrow.
Arrow returns for the final season on Tuesday, October 15 on The CW. Check out the poster below.
