Artist, Scott Ericksonhas done a beautiful job combining the artwork of the indigenous culture from the Washington state area, where he grew up, with the influences of the 70’s and 80’s that had the most impact on him. The most influential being Star Wars. You can read more about his story and this project, Alliance=Rebellion: Alki Tum Tum, here.

When I saw these I had an immediate reaction because I’m assuming we’re around the same age and I have very strong connections to the Pacific Northwest.  Both these same subjects have affected me in a huge way as well. There is something that resonates deeply because both represent tradition and storytelling. As I get older history, especially cultural history, has become so important to me. I am constantly seeking answers about who we are and where we came from.

And also, aesthetically, these are just badass! I encourage you to buy these prints for a Christmas present (for me) and support this artist and others who do such amazing work.

The artist is Scott Erickson and you can purchase, here.
