The Wonder Woman sequel has been officially announced. With excitement high on Diana’s origin story, what could the follow up hold in store for us? We’ve already heard rumors about it being set during the Cold War and Diana going to America. With so much potential, there’s a lot they can do. Here are just 5 things we’d like to see.

1 – Cheetah

Right off the bat we’re in villain territory. Now this one would be slightly difficult given the apparent setting the film is supposed to take place. But Cheetah is one of Diana’s fiercest and famous villains in her history. There have been a few different Cheetah’s over time, so we think Barbara Ann Minerva would work best. Why? Barbara Ann was an archaeologist that would do whatever it took to get an artifact. She wasn’t quite a criminal so much as selfish. A more sympathetic Cheetah could play well into Diana’s compassion, making it an even more difficult fight.

2 – Addressing the End of Wonder Woman

At the end of Wonder Woman, we found out that Diana herself was the ‘Godkiller’, not a sword. And she defeated the God of War. Does this make her the God of War? If so, what will she do with her abilities? We know other major wars took place, namely World War II. Was this Diana or a return from Ares? If she’s not the God of War, what do her demi-god abilities grant her? There’s just so many questions, ones that won’t be addressed in Justice League so we should learn a bit more in the sequel.

3 – A Team

In the events of the first film, Diana was surrounded by Steve Trevor’s crew. Etta, Sameer, Charlie, and Chief. But if there’s a large time gap, those characters won’t be alive for that time period. Or if they are, they’re very old and wouldn’t be able to fight very well. Because of that, she will need to find herself other friends to surround herself with, reminding her of her humanity. We unfortunately lost Steve and he was childless so they wouldn’t be able to work a “grandson” plot. They could, however, do that with Etta Candy. Candy is Diana’s close friend and ally in the comics, so it only makes sense for her to return somehow. Who else would be a part of that group? We’ll have to cross our fingers they’re as great as her friends from the 1910s.

4 – A Wonder-filled Cameo

The DCEU has yet to include cameos of prior movie productions and they probably won’t, unlike their counterpart Marvel. But a Lynda Carter cameo would mean a whole lot to many women. Think of it – the woman who helped put Wonder Woman on the map, paving the way for the film to be made, in a movie about her. It’s too great not to include! Plus any appearance by Carter is a great one. Make it so, DC!

5 – More Lasso Action!

Alright, this one is kind of cheating but hear it out! Wonder Woman is most known for using her lasso. Our cinematic Diana is really fond of using a sword and shield. There’s nothing wrong with that, of course. And we did see her using her lasso a few times in the film, but less so as a weapon and more so as a lie detector. Also, because of her use of a sword, she’s more prone to lethal force. We’d still like to see Diana use more compassion before she becomes far too jaded. Swords are fun, but lasso action could be really creative.
