With the World of Warcraft Shadowlands release inching closer by the minute, it is safe to say we have hit a bit of downtime. And while many may choose to take a break from World of Warcraft before pre patch goes live, there is still a ton to do in game. With everything the massive multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG) has to offer, it can get a bit over bearing. So to help get you started I have come up with a list of five things to do right now in game.
Level Different Classes
Everyone has their main character in World of Warcraft but it can be fun to play other classes as well. It gives you a chance to really see what every class has to offer. Maybe you only play ranged casters but really want to check out a melee class. Or maybe you want to try tanking or healing. This is the time to do so! Having multiple max level classes before the next expansion releases also lets you swap between them until you find what really makes you happy. Plus it can be fun running old dungeons or raids with guild mates!
Pet and Mount Farming
Pet and mount farming in game is almost like a job unto itself. Collecting every available pet in game will have you exploring the world for spawns you have to battle (like Pokemon) and capture, running dungeons and raids, and participating in different quests. The same goes with mounts too. Many can be obtained through farming dungeons and raids as well. There are far less quests to get mounts, but many can be bought when hitting exalted with different factions which makes faction grinding worth it. Having more alts makes grinding old content easier so level those characters and put them to good use!

Raid Current Content
If you haven’t gotten a chance to check out the current raid tier, Ny’alotha, the Waking City, I highly suggest doing so. Groups are still forming around the clock to work on clearing normal, heroic and even mythic. It is a great way to get higher item level gear that can be used for a good chunk of the leveling during the next expansion. It is also just a really great way to have fun and play with friends. There are still some guilds who are actively trying to progress through mythic which is the best place to learn. Not to mention there is still time to get the “Ahead of the Curve” achievement and mount for downing heroic or mythic Ny’zoth!
Achievement Hunting
Speaking of achievements, there are a ton in game that can still be completed. What is great about achievement hunting is you can decide from a vast variety of game play styles. Is collecting something you enjoy? There are achievements for that. Like reaching exalted with different factions? There are achievements for that too. There are even achievements for completing achievements! It is a great way to pass time in game while also being able to catch up on TV shows on the side.
Run Mythic Plus Dungeons
I really enjoyed World of Warcraft Battle for Azeroth‘s dungeons (except Underrot, it can go to the place where dungeons go to die). What I really enjoy more is the challenge of completing higher level keys each week. You can spend hours with a group running key after key. Each week features a different set of affixes which helps to keep us on our toes. Sometimes we have to dodge volcanoes while making sure to kill mobs at the same time. While sometimes we have healers spamming to keep everyone above a certain heath percentage while the mobs are hitting harder.
Regardless how you plan to spend your time in game between now and pre patch, remember to have fun! If you haven’t gotten a chance to check this game out, do it. It is available on PC and can be downloaded through the Blizzard Entertainment website.
