Fox Studios has really owned the week in terms of news this week, really coming out swinging to plant their own Marvel flag into the ground against the unwavering onslaught of favorable reviews and audience excitement for Marvel Studio’s Captain America: Civil War. That film kicks off May and Fox’s film, X-Men: Apocalypse, closes out the month.

So they are doing their best to keep their name relevant in the media ramp up to Civil War, and they’re doing a solid job of it.

There have been multiple casting announcements this week about Hugh Jackman’s last turn as Wolverine as well as a couple new trailers for X-Men: Apocalypse. Then, today, they released their first clip for the film that will bring their current X-Men trilogy to an end and, presumably, crank the engine on a new direction for the franchise.

In this clip, we see Moira MacTaggart (Rose Byrne), talking about an ancient threat with Professor Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and Alex Summers a.k.a. Havoc (Lucas Till). She tells them that his name was En Sabah Nur and he was considered the first mutant and was, more or less, all powerful.

We’ve already seen most of this clip spread throughout the previously released trailers for the film, but here we see it in its entirety for the first time. We don’t necessarily learn anything too new or novel that the trailers haven’t already shown us, but seeing the scene in and of itself is enough to get us even more excited for the film!

After all, it IS the X-Men and it IS Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse. What’s not to get excited about!?
