Wynonna Earp star Melanie Scrofano is not only “whiskey soaked and reckless” as the Peacemaker-wielding Wynonna. Nor is she merely a “crazy chick with a gun.” Now, she can add “badass director” to her ever-expanding resume! We learned that Scrofano will be directing one of 12 episodes in Wynonna Earp‘s fourth season. Moreover, Syfy released an exclusive behind the scenes featurette highlighting Scrofano’s directorial debut. In addition, Dominique Provost-Chalkley (Waverly Earp) and Katherine Barrell (Nicole Haught) sang her praises regarding her keen eye and nuanced approach.
Of course, starting a new venture of any kind can give one cold feet. Initially, Scrofano was frightened at the prospect of directing. However, she took the bull by the horns like the inimitable fierce queen she is. Provost-Chalkley felt inspired by Scrofano’s feat and Barrell praised her fellow cast member for her attention to detail. Both costars agreed that Scrofano had the ease of an experienced director, despite it being her first time at the helm. Go, Mel, go!

Now, if you’ll recall, Wynonna Earp Season 3 ended on a massive cliffhanger. Waverly was snatched into the Garden and Doc (Tim Rozon) dove in after her. Meanwhile, the Earp Curse was effectively broken. All of Purgatory’s residents disappeared save Wynonna and Nedley (Greg Lawson). Oh, and Wynonna must find a solution to everything sans Peacemaker. Should be no biggie, right?
