blade-runner

With no fanfare or warning, Warner Brothers quite dropped the Blade Runner 2049 synopsis and first trailer.  It’s short, and there isn’t much to go on in the trailer.  But it gets us excited for what is to come.

It starts out with a VO by Ryan Gosling talking about his job as a Blade Runner.  It ends with Harrison Ford confronting Gosling in a mansion.  The world is yellow and orange and dusty.  Based on the summary and the visuals, we are meant to think something catastrophic has happened in the last 30 years.  What, we don’t know.  I’m sure that will play into the storyline somehow.

Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.

Blade Runner 2049 hits theaters October 6, 2017.
