The final Wonder Woman trailer has debuted! Airing during the MTV Awards, the trailer delivers pure action all the way through. Set to Imagine Dragons, the footage rehashes a lot of the same footage unfortunately. However, we finally see a bit more of our second villain!

We see Diana stepping out of the trenches as we’ve seen in the other trailers. “Fighting does not make you a hero” her mother reminds her in a voiceover. We cut to a young Diana, promising to be careful and to use a shield. Diana is running through the battlefield blocking bullets from every direction. Her mother warns her to be careful of mankind. We see on Themyscira that Steve Trevor is being questioned with the lasso of truth. He talks of Doctor Poison and how millions will die if the war continues as he witnesses Poison and her associate watch over her work. Diana is very moved by this, so much so, she leaves Themyscira. Her mother tells her she can never return if she goes. Diana retorts “who will I be if I stay?”

We then get footage of her stealing the gifts from the Gods – the lasso of truth, the shield, Godkiller sword and of course, her diadem. In London, she’s ready for war but Trevor tells her they’ll be going there later. She tries on clothes with Etta and is introduced to Sir Patrick Morgan as we’ve seen in other footage. Also worth noting, that we haven’t mentioned before, that Trevor gives her the name “Diana Prince”. A montage of action breaks out, most we’ve seen already. One shot shows her being pushed back by a beam – what that ability is, it’s unsure. But it has to be from our main villain who we have not seen in any promotion – Ares. The rest of the action is things we’ve seen before but another thing worth note. She’s fighting men among the flames – this will probably be during her big fight with Ares.

While I’m disappointed a good portion of the trailer is rehash, there was some new footage to watch as well. It hasn’t deterred my excitement for the film – only enhances it. I am curious as to why Ares is being completely kept out of the footage but I suppose we need some secrets. The film certainly looks to be epic and I can’t wait!
