rey-force

The Last Jedi teaser trailer just debuted at Star Wars Celebration and I’m a wreck. A true wreck. We get brief glimpses at so many things and get some more brief answers. Guys, it’s time to get hyped!

We see Rey gasping for breath, clearly having gone through a lot of training. We then see shots of Ahch-To beautiful lit as Rey learns about the Force, moving stone and embracing her powers. Luke and Rey have a voiceover, with Luke telling Rey to breathe and asks what she sees. We then get glimpses of General Leia working with the Resistance with Rey saying “Light”. We then see Kylo’s smashed helmet and Rey says “Darkness”. We then see books, very ancient books, lit by a ray of sun. “A balance”. We see The Whills. Luke adds that “It’s so much bigger” as Rey is doing some lightsaber training on the beautiful mountain side. It’s gorgeous. The music picks up and were off to a montage of action shots.

Ships spouting a red dust cruise across a desert floor. Finn is in a pod, being healed from the wounds he sustained from the events of The Force Awakens. Poe runs down a hall with BB-8, their base being attacked. His X-Wing is blown up – again. The Millennium Falcon soars through the air, being trailed by TIE-Fighters. Rey has her lightsaber out, racing in the dark. Kylo is holding out his lightsaber menacingly. Buildings are on fire – in what has to be a flashback of what happened to Luke’s old school of training. Luke (or someone) collapses on their knees looking at the burning. Captain Phasma and stormtroopers come through the fire. There’s a space battle! So many lasers. Luke is at a cave tunnel saying “It’s time for the Jedi to end”. End.
