Sneak Peek at THE FLASH: Borrowing Problems from the Future Sees Barry Vibe to the Future

Poor Barry Allen. The writers of the hit CW series, The Flash, are really putting him through the wringer. No matter how much he tries to stay away from meddling with time travel, he always gets pulled right back into it. However, where every other time it’s been him going to the past, this time it’s him going to his future. It’s the future he accidentally saw after entering the actual Speed Force to purposefully lose Savitar’s mystical box to eternity.

It’s also the future that Savitar predicted, where someone close to Barry would die. In this instance, it was Iris West that died. It was right after The Flash captured a criminal named Plunder. Distraught, Barry decided he couldn’t tell anybody what he saw there, believing he could just change it himself.

Well, The CW has released a new synopsis and trailer for their midseason premiere, “Borrowing Problems from the Future,” where we see Barry eventually breaks and tells everybody. Savitar somehow returns and Iris West dies by his hands. According to the synopsis, Barry decided that if he never catches the criminal, Plunder, that Iris won’t die because Barry changed that one element of his future.

We see in the trailer that Barry tearfully tells Iris what he saw in his future. We then also see Barry and his best friend, Cisco Ramon, “vibing” to the future.

What they see there or figure out we don’t know. But, The Flash returns to our various screens on January 24th.

BARRY FIGHTS FOR IRIS
— Barry (Grant Gustin) is tormented by his vision of the future where Iris (Candice Patton) is murdered by Savitar. When a criminal named Plunder (guest star Stephen Huszar) shows up in Central City, Barry recalls the villain’s presence in his vision of the future and fears that if he catches Plunder, it will cement Iris’ fate. Confused about Barry’s hesitation to stop Plunder, Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) decides to step in as Kid Flash. Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) offers Julian (Tom Felton) a job.
