Welcome back, students of Coal Hill Academy! Class returned this past week with its best episode to date. That’s not just my opinion, but also a scientific fact (my opinions are facts, you know). The premise was simple – our gang was sequestered away in detention by Miss Quill as the latter “runs an errand.” However, tensions skyrocketed when a mysterious asteroid made its home inside the classroom. Said asteroid had powers. It forced whoever was holding it to tell the truth, a dark secret they wouldn’t share under normal circumstances. On top of this asteroid business, our quintet also ended up in outer space, at an unknown location. They just can’t catch a break!

However, as the episode continued along its merry way, we saw there was more to the asteroid than its truth-telling capabilities. It contained the consciousness of a felon, someone serving a long and excruciating sentence in a “space prison.” If you’re sentenced to a prison in outer space, you must’ve done something unspeakably bad.

Meanwhile, this resulted in secret confessions of love and unexpected confessions of hate. Confessions of loneliness. Although the episode never left that classroom, the stakes were higher than ever. This somehow strengthened the group like never before. Charlie uses his Princely powers to save the day, and all is right with the world. You know, except for the bit where Quill returns, freedom reinstated. That sucks for him.

Now, on to this week’s promo! Judging by the promo, this promises to be a very Quill-heavy episode, which makes me very happy. We get to see what she was up to while the Coal Hill gang suffered through detention. By the looks of it, Miss Quill (Katherine Kelly) finally gets the Arn removed from her brain, courtesy of Dorothea Ames (Pooky Quesnel). Ames stresses the gravity of the situation – either Quill gets the Arn removed today, or she dies. But first- adventure time! Ames, Quill and a mystery man named Ballon (Chike Okonkwo) head down the rabbit hole into what I can only assume is Quill’s home world. They have all sorts of shenanigans: Quill gets a brand spankin’ new eye. Our friends encounter a Quill Goddess, who looks a bit on the scary side. Really, it looks like they went to Hell and back.

Do you think Quill will take action against Charlie now that she’s free? Where do you think she is for this episode? Will we finally find out who Ames is in the grand scheme of things? Perhaps we’ll find out next week! In the meantime, allow the promo for Class below to satiate your appetite. I know I will.

Class airs Saturdays at 10pm on your BBC America affiliate.
