Old-Luke-Skywalker1

It’s been revealed that Luke Skywalker is indeed the last Jedi. The mystery surrounding the title has finally been answered by director and writer Rian Johnson. Talking to ABC News, the director clarified in his mind, there was never a question of singular or plural.

ABC asked him quite simply “Singular or plural”. Johnson’s response was a mix of delight and confusion. “It’s so funny when people started asking that when the title was announced. Because I had never even pondered that question. That seems like, to me, like the most … uninteresting, I guess. …In my mind, it’s singular.” ABC further questioned if it was Luke. “Well if you say so! …I mean they say in The Force Awakens, you know, he’s going to find the last Jedi temple and Luke is the last Jedi.”
