Great news coming out of Marvel‘s TV division on Netflix! Our hard-drinking heroine is getting a third season! Though we had no doubts of Jessica Jones return, it is really nice to hear it confirmed, wouldn’t you say? And also confirmed was actress Krysten Ritter‘s return to the role. It certainly wouldn’t be the same without her. So just where will they take the character after the events of the second season?

Showrunner, Melissa Rosenberg, told EW about Jessica’s path and while she’s dealt with great tragedy, there’s still some hope there. “She doesn’t end where she begins. So while she’s lost several people from her life, and that is tragic and painful, there’s still a hint of her taking a first baby step toward opening herself to people.” And that baby step seems like a huge step for her, where she doesn’t open up to anyone, not even her best friend.

While we have nothing else confirmed, the show made major leaps by having an all-female director lineup for the second season. We’re unsure if that will happen again but we’re definitely looking forward to more from this series. It’s just really good to see another female-lead superhero show doing so well! If I could give a personal opinion though, I think it was a major mistake to kill off Killgrave in the first season. They could’ve played with him a lot more. I digress. Let’s see what her next big case will be.

What do you want to see in the third season of Jessica Jones? Let us know! Be sure to come back to Geek Girl Authority for more Marvel TV news. Jessica Jones will return to Netflix at an unknown time.
