NintendoDirect1

Today Nintendo unveiled new information and release dates about their upcoming games for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS during their Nintendo Direct presentation. We also got some details on new peripherals for the Nintendo Switch and new amiibos figure sets. It looks like we’ll be having a busy year.

New Peripherals and Amiibos

Neon Yellow Joy-Cons

If the thought of having plain black, red or blue Joy-Cons was unappealing to you, today it was announced that Neon Yellow Joy-Cons and Joy-Con straps will be available on June 16. Each set of Joy-Cons will come with black straps plus strap accessories. No price was given at the time of the presentation, but we can assume that it will cost the same as the red/blue Joy-Cons at $79.99. The separate Neon Yellow Joy-Con straps will probably go for $7.99.

Nintendo Switch Standalone Dock

The standalone dock accessory will be available for purchase on May 19. This will allow you to conveniently dock your Switch on multiple TVs without having to move cords, or have a travel dock available without having to unplug your main setup.

New Amiibos

If you are a collector of amiibos or use them in games, Nintendo announced new amiibo sets coming soon from Super Smash Bros. and The Legend of Zelda.

The Super Smash Bros. amiibos will feature two versions of Cloud, Corrin, and Bayonetta figures. These will be available on July 21.

The Legend of Zelda amiibos will feature three figures based on Link from The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. These will be released on June 23.
