Deadline reports that HBO will re-air Carrie Fisher‘s Wishful Drinking at 9PM New Year’s Day.

Based on her one woman stage show, which was also eventually turned into a New York Times Bestselling book, Wishful Drinking gives an honest look at Fisher’s life.  Fisher reveals what it was really like to grow up a product of “Hollywood in-breeding,” come of age on the set of a little movie called Star Wars, and become a cultural icon and bestselling action figure at the age of nineteen.

HBO also revealed it is set to debut early next year the documentary Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds.  The documentary did have its world premier at Cannes in May.  Meanwhile, Geffen Playhouse confirmed Fisher was working on a sequel to Wishful Drinking at the time of he death.

Carrie Fisher passed away December 27, her mother, Debbie Reynolds, passed less than 48 hours later later on December 28.
