Oh man.

Oh man oh man oh man.

If you’re familiar with the Infinity storyline from Jonathan Hickman’s run on The Avengers and New Avengers, then these new pics might interest you.

Once more, thanks to Just Jared, we see Benedict Cumberbatch in the role as Doctor Strange, on set for Marvel’s next gigantic movie, Avengers: Infinity War, which will see Thanos and his cabal, The Cull Obsidian, coming to earth to claim all of the Infinity Stones for the Infinity Gauntlet. The motivation for Thanos to do any of this is currently unclear, though in the comics it was his way of wooing Death.

Yeah, THE Death.

In the Infinity storyline, Thanos sends his Cull Obsidian, a.k.a. The Black Order, to Earth to help him subdue it and take it over all in a search for his son, Thane. One of the members of this order is The Ebony Maw, who’s powers of persuasion are so strong that he was sent to subdue one man and one man only — Doctor Strange. But he did even more than that — he convinced Doctor Strange to attack New York City, which he did, by summoning Shuma Gorath. And the poor Sorcerer Supreme was never aware he’d even done that.

In these pics, we see Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, held on the ground. He still wears the Eye of Agamotto around his neck, the green Time Stone still glowing inside, but by the looks of these pics he may not have the Eye for much longer. If Thanos is going to put his Infinity Gauntlet together, he’ll need the Time Stone. If Marvel Studios is following in the footsteps of the Marvel Comics, then it’s entirely possible that the Mocap actor we see here is playing Ebony Maw and has convinced Doctor Strange to lie down so he might take the Time Stone for himself.

In another set of pics, we see Paul Rudd as Scott Lang running from something sans his Ant-Man suit. Also absent is Evangeline Lilly as The Wasp. It’s unclear exactly to what or from what Scott Lang is running, but one thing is for sure — he’s running. This also just confirms 100% that he’s in the film, which none of us ever doubted, but now we have verifiable, visual proof.

Now if we could just get that pesky Wasp to show up…
