FOUNDING FATHERS: Make America Fun Again (Please)

If you are like me, you’re probably sick of the current state of the political landscape. It exhausts me. So why in the world would I be intrigued with a board game about the forming of the U.S. Constitution? Maybe it’s the remnants of my political science major bleeding through, hoping I’ll glimpse a clue of how we got where we are today. Maybe it’s a desire to return to a seemingly simpler time, where names like Franklin, Hamilton, and […]

Video Game Review- UNCHARTED: THE NATHAN DRAKE COLLECTION

“It’s like Tomb Raider, except with a guy, and Nathan Drake is SO like Nathan Fillion” my friend said. That was enough to get me interested in playing Uncharted but it took me many months, and an upgrade to a PS4 Pro, that made me actually get off my butt and purchase the games. Enter the PlayStation Network Holiday Sale and I scored the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection for a ridiculously cheap price. I’m a huge Tomb Raider fan. […]

Tabletop Review: What Would You Give FOR CROWN & KINGDOM?

As a game store owner, I spend a lot of my time looking through distributor sites looking for games that my customers may have missed or not found yet. Sometimes when I’m researching reviews and such, I’ll discover one that gets me excited enough to grab a demo copy. That’s how I discovered For Crown & Kingdom, designed by Dave Mansell and published by Rio Grande Games in 2016. RELATED: My Tabletop Game To-Do List For 2017 For Crown & Kingdom […]

The UNCHARTED Movie Finally Has a Script

Back in 2008, Song Pictures and Naughty Dog announced that an Uncharted movie was in the works. This was right after the release of the first Uncharted game, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. Well, 9 years and 3 games later we’re finally seeing some progress with the filming of this movie. This week script writer Joe Carnahan (The Grey, Smokin’ Aces) posted a picture on Instagram of a completed draft of the Uncharted script. “Done and Dusted,” the post says, “Now the REAL […]

  • EW Readers: Settlers of Catan is NOT Monopoly!

EW Readers: Settlers of Catan is NOT Monopoly!

The board game community has been kicked in the gut by a single phrase, “think Monopoly.” Awards season kicked off last night with the Golden Globes and you can be sure those VIP after parties were on point.  But while probably all of Hollywood was dancing the night away, one of my favorite celebrity couples, Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard, did just what I would do: GAME NIGHT! Kristen Bell shared an adorable photo on her Instagram of the pair setting […]

How Video Games Saved My Life and Made Me Who I Am

In September 2015 I was supposed to be married. But by the end of 2014 I realised that I had begun to fall out of love with my fiancé. There was no drama behind it.  The relationship had simply run its course. But we both were in denial. In June that year, just before we split up we got an apartment and even though we weren’t together we thought we could make it work. We were both dealing with the […]

    Meet The Artist: RUSTY LAKE

These days, the majority of the world associates the “room escape” genre with tourists and coworkers spending $20-60 dollars each to pretend to be locked in a room together for an hour, solving puzzles of various complexities to get let out. Semi-casual gamers, on the other hand, know that the room escape genre originated long before the live action version became popular in the late 2000s, with the earliest computer escape game being released as early as 1988. There are […]
