DEATH RACE 2050 Official Red Band Trailer Delivers!

If you’re looking for camp, look no further.  The Death Race 2050 Official Red Band Trailer was released yesterday.  And, Roger Corman has done it again. You may have been afraid that the Death Race reboot would bring a darker, more serious tone to the story as so many reboots do… well, worry not, my friends.  Corman’s 2050 hasn’t lost any of the sense of humor of the original.  Malcolm McDowell looks amazing as ever, and plays the broadest of tyrannical […]

Check Out This Homemade CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Trailer

Captain America: Civil War has gotten a lot of positive fan attention, as it should.  And, it’s trailer has also been a target for fandom.  Now, we have a shot for shot live action remake of the trailer from the Youtubers at Cinefix! I’m a sucker for pretending with some cardboard and some duct tape.  This fits the bill.  Cinefix’s Homemade Movies trailer gives us all of the action and pith of the movie, but with toys on sticks, cardboard models, silly […]

  • Benedict Cumberbatch is Related to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

Benedict Cumberbatch is Related to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

WHAT!?!  Could this be more perfect?  Some awesome genealogy geeks have discovered that Benedict Cumberbatch, who currently plays Sherlock Holmes on TV is related to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, who CREATED SHERLOCK HOLMES!! Entertainment Weekly reports that according to Ancestry.com, the two are 16th cousins, twice removed.  I have no idea what that means… but apparently Conan Doyle and Cumberbatch share a common ancestor.  That ancestor is  ‘John of Gaunt, who was the Duke of Lancaster and a close friend of The Canterbury […]

  • TABOO Trailers Reveal a Twisted Drama from Tom Hardy

TABOO Trailers Reveal a Twisted Drama from Tom Hardy

BBC One released a new trailer for their mini-series, Taboo this week, and I’m intrigued.  Well, let’s be honest, I’ve been waiting for this one for awhile. Tom Hardy, who stars, created the gritty period drama with his father, Edward ‘Chips’ Hardy.  If that’s not interesting enough for you, it’s co-written by Steven Knight who wrote one of my favorite series of all time Peaky Blinders.  YES!!  You heard me right!  Tom Hardy and Steven Knight are together again.  AND…. […]

Staying in for Christmas? Watch Jenny’s Top 11 Christmas Movies

Alright my little Christmas Elves…. I’ve emerged with a list. It is a list of great importance to me, for if you know me, you know that I am THE BIGGEST fan of Christmas.  I get my Christmas tree, fresh, immediately after Thanksgiving. I love Christmas advertising in October.  I listen to Christmas music (my own specially created mix) every single day of December. I make cookies. I decorate the hell out of my house and refer to it as ‘Christmas Town’. […]

  • Watch SNL’s Dysfunctional Tribute To Dunkin’ Donuts

Watch SNL’s Dysfunctional Tribute To Dunkin’ Donuts

Nothing says the holidays like some good old fashioned disfunction, and SNL served some up last night.  Their holiday commercial for Dunkin’ Donuts portrays ‘real’ customers talking about how their holidays ‘run on Dunkin”.  Donny (Casey Affleck) is as real and as dysfunctional as it gets. Anyone who’s worked in a coffee shop knows that the regulars are usually as irregular as they come.  This sketch nails it.  And, though Affleck’s character comes from Massachusetts, where the culture is  hilariously […]

  • Watch Liam Neeson’s Misguided Santa Claus Audition!

Watch Liam Neeson’s Misguided Santa Claus Audition!

Liam Neeson is known much more for his gravitas than for his jolliness.  So, mall Santa Claus might not be the best gig for him.  The Late Show with Stephen Colbert tested that theory on Friday night.  Theory proven. Neeson gives us a Santa that we might never want to see again, and certainly not shimmying down our chimneys.  I’m pretty sure he would not come unarmed.  His Santa is much more Taken than giving, and it’s hilarious. I don’t think […]

Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn Are Hilarious in the SNATCHED Trailer

Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn play a mother and daughter on a madcap adventure gone awry in Snatched.  And this trailer got me pretty excited to see what happens. My first question is, why haven’t these two teamed up before?  They are two funny ladies.  They have surprisingly similar silly senses of humor, though Goldie Hawn has always tended to err on the sweet side, and Schumer is as raunchy as the day is long.  They seem like the perfect pair […]

It’s Rogue One eve, so we’d better get ready.  Let’s celebrate with what is perhaps the most complimentary Honest Trailers ever. Honest Trailers doesn’t do it’s usual amount of hazing with The Empire Strikes Back.  In fact, they call it a perfect movie at one point.  I agree.  And, it’s actually really refreshing to have some honest fandom for once.  Let’s call what’s great, great!  There’s nothing wrong with that! Funny Feminism Lives on SNL With ‘Dyke and Fats’

There’s much and more talk right now about women’s issues and the treatment of women in hollywood, in politics, in society.  Well, SNL knows it, and continues to address it in the funniest ways.  Kate McKinnon and Aidy Bryant are on the frontlines of funny in so many ways.  This time, they’re Dyke and Fats. If you’ve got a problem with political correctness, this is for you.  Harkening back to the ‘tough chick’ female buddy cop dramas of the 70’s, […]
